Kevin Yamami is a second-year doctoral student in the School of Information. He is spending the year abroad in Uzbekistan on a Boren Fellowship to learn Uzbek and Russian and to work work with UNDP-Uzbekistan. Read all about it in his blog.
Kevin holds a B.S. in Information Systems from U.C. Santa Cruz and a M.S. in Public Policy from the Heinz School at Carnegie Mellon University. Before coming to Michigan he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan teaching business/ICT at Tashkent State Technical University, a humanitarian aid worker in northern Afghanistan working on medical/educational aid distributions and technical aid projects, an ICT instructor at a private college in China, and a UNHCR intern in northeast Bosnia focusing on ICT and youth development. His research interests involve ICT and 3rd world economic development and he is an avid gambler and traveler.
