Amy Cohn joined the faculty in 2002. Her research interest is in robust and integrated planning for large-scale systems. She focuses primarily on applications in the design of transportation and logistics networks. Current research projects include integrated airline planning, load routing and equipment balancing for small package carriers, and production sequencing for improved customer responsiveness in flow shop manufacturing. Her teaching activities include undergraduate optimization, graduate linear programming, and a newly developed course in large-scale optimization. She is the faculty advisor for the Society of Women Engineers and Phi Sigma Rho, the undergraduate engineering sorority. Professor Cohn is currently serving as a Sloan Industry Studies Fellow, identifying key new research questions resulting from recent major changes in the passenger airline industry.
